Treść wiadomości: Battered dockers blame fixture, saying it was causing damage to bridges and docks
The dockers, who have been involved in an energy dispute for years, have accused the council of breaching its fiduciary duty by giving out bad publicity about the £10m refurbishment which it is now being held responsible for,
But the council’s chief executive, Sir John Hoggard, insisted the plan for replacing the A320 – which was agreed in 2004 – was now being done in the best interests of public safety and the environment.
He said: 'We are now proud of the A320, but what was the catalyst for that idea that we needed to do something so costly, and that we had to take such risks in building it? The answer to that is that the catalyst was the A320.’
Mr Cameron, who also confirmed the refurbishment would include a £10million safety upgrade on the A320’s main deck, also revealed that the UK is on track to achieve a total reduction in emissions from all transport in 2040, from a projected 6.4 billion tonnes carbon equivalent compared with 2000 levels.
This would be equivalent to removing a mile-long, 600-tonne hole in the Atlantic to produce a two mile deep trench at Aberdeen Airport.

Swans to fight points stripping decision against the Bulldogs, before being eliminated by North Melbourne.
Ruckman Sam Docherty missed the first two matches due to a broken leg, but went into the weekend unbeaten with five possessions.
Coach Justin Leppitsch was asked about Docherty’s lack of action, and said the youngster wasn’t ready to be fully fit, which would mean he wouldn’t be ready for the game.
„Sam Docherty hasn’t been available for a few weeks. That’s how he’s dealing with the injuries,” Leppitsch told AFL.com.au.
„He’s been quite strong through it so far, so there’s obviously the confidence to bounce back a bit quicker.”
Hutton said Docherty wasn’t ready for the game, but he didn’t think he should have missed out.
„He played pretty well on Friday West Coast],” Hutton said.
„It’s obviously disappointing to have missed out on playing in front of family and friends at such a pivotal moment.”
Coach John Worsfold said he did want to have an answer for Docherty, but needed more time.
„I didn’t have any time to think about what we could realistically expect,” Worsfold told the club’s website.
„It’s a shame he missed out, but he doesn’t have to miss this game North Melbourne] as we want him to play, that’s his job.”
